A Beautiful Idea...

Kaduna Books and Art Festival (KABAFEST) was founded in 2017 by Lola Shoneyin. It stands as a vibrant celebration of literature, art, and culture in the northern part of Nigeria. Year after year, this festival captivates minds and hearts, bringing together a diverse array of writers, artists, and enthusiasts from across the country and beyond.

Fully funded by Kaduna State government, KABAFEST is a testament to the dynamic cultural tapestry of Kaduna, showcasing the city's rich heritage and its contribution to the literary and artistic landscapes.

Beyond its cultural showcases, KABAFEST is deeply rooted in community engagement and empowerment. Workshops, mentorship programs, and outreach initiatives are integral parts of the festival, fostering an environment where aspiring writers and artists can learn, grow, and contribute to the cultural wealth of Kaduna and Northern Nigeria.

With a blend of free and ticketed events, the festival opens its doors to a diverse audience, ensuring that the magic of storytelling and creativity reaches as many people as possible.
