Abdulkareem Baba-Aminu is a Kaduna-born writer, illustrator, and poet. Also an award-winning journalist, he was the Editor – and editorial cartoonist – of the Saturday edition of the Daily Trust, a major Nigerian newspaper. With an influential body of journalistic and cartooning work spanning well-over two decades, he is currently the COO of Spine & Label, one of Abuja’s most beloved bookstores.

In addition to being a sought-after book cover designer and children’s book illustrator, Baba-Aminu’s written and illustrative work is featured in the bestselling graphic novel anthology ‘The Most Important Comic Book on Earth’ (Penguin UK). His writing has appeared in publications including ‘The Passenger’ (Italy and UK), ‘Full Bleed’ (US), and others, some translated into French and Italian.

Baba-Aminu has also worked in TV, most notably as a writer for the BBC WST’s ‘Wetin Dey’. His first novel, ‘The Herdsboy’, a work of Africanfuturism, is slated for a late-2025 release.
