
A’aisha Abdulkareem (A.k.A, Aisha Umar) holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master of Arts in literature in English from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria.
She is currently a Ph.D. student at the University of Ilorin, she lectures at the Department of European Languages, Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Nigeria. She teaches African Literature, Ecocriticism, and Creative Writing.
She specialises in gender studies and African literature. She just rounded up an M.A in Creative Writing at Cardiff Metropolitan University , United Kingdom, where she resides currently.
She’s a mother of four. Her novel, ‘Yar Fari is published by Kraftbooks. Her poems are published in various national and international journals. Her shortstory, Binle’s Emirald was shortlisted for the 2019 African Writers Award.
